1.There are PC and PET barrels in the market. Which one should I choose?
1.1 PC barrel or pet barrel, understanding material characteristics is the first step
PC material water barrel
The main material of the PC water barrel is polycarbonate(PC), it is a kind of toughened engineering plastic.
The material of PC water barrel is relatively hard, with good mechanical strength, and not easy to deform;
The PC water barrel is resistant to high temperature (melting point is about 280 degrees) and can withstand high-temperature disinfection.
Scope of application
It is often used as a recycling water barrel.
The cost of the recycling water barrel is low. To meet the sanitary requirements, it needs strict cleaning and disinfection.
PET water barrel
The main material of the PET water barrel is polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which belongs to soft plastic.
The material of the PET water barrel is soft and easy to deform after pressure;
PET water barrel is not resistant to high temperature (melting point is about 80 ℃), not only easy to deform after high temperature, but also decomposes substances harmful to the human body.
Scope of application
It is often used as a disposable barrel with a high cost and simple cleaning and disinfection procedure.
1.2 PC water barrel or pet water barrel, the barrel-making machine is also different.
The PC water barrel is made by the blow molding machine. The main process is to heat PC particles to form tube preform, and then blow the tube preform into a water barrel shape.
The PET water barrel is made by the bottle blowing machine. The main process is to heat the ready-made pet tube preform, and then blow the pet tube preform into a water barrel shape.
PS: About PET tube preform, it is made by the injection molding machine. The weight range of 5gallon pet tube preform ; 650G-750G.
PS: as a preliminary investor of barreled water, it is recommended to use a ready PC recycling water barrel or buy the ready PET tube preform to make the PET water barrel.
2. What treatment is required for PC recycling water barrels before filling?
2.1 Remove the water barrel caps
2.2 Cleaning and disinfecting the water barrel
Due to the different use places in the early stage, the dirt carried by the PC recycling water barrel is very complex, including oil, incrustation, algae, and even peculiar smell. To achieve hygiene, strict cleaning and disinfection are required for this kind of barrel before filling.
The exterior part of the water barrel:
We use the automatic 5gallon barrel external brushing machine to clean the barrel body, barrel bottom, and barrel upper part.
The 5gallon outside brushing machine has two types: line type and rotary type.
The interior part of the water barrel:
We use the automatic 5gallon barrel internal brushing machine to clean the barrel inside. If the interior of the barrel is dirty and the brush can not clean it well,we suggest using the high-pressure 5gallon inner rinsing machine.
Deep cleaning and disinfection:
After rough cleaning, deep cleaning and disinfection are required.
Here is the deep washing process:
1st hot alkali rinsing- drip- 2nd recycling water rinsing-drip dry- 3rdsterilization liquid rinsing-drip dry – 4th recycling water rinsing-drip dry- 5th pure water/ozone water rinsing- drip dry.
The rinsing procedures and times can be increased or reduced according to the cleanliness of the barrel. After each cleaning, it needs to be dripped dry, otherwise, it is easy to cause the mixture of cleaning solution.
3. Different filling method
Sealed filling: after the filling valve is in contact with the bottle mouth, filling starts. When the barrel is full of water, stop filling and start reflux.
Time filling is also called non-touch filling. During filling, the filling valve and bottle mouth is not sealed. The precise filling of the time filling is realized through the combination valve (combination of pneumatic valve and diaphragm valve) and frequency converter, the filling volume is controlled by the filling time (the filling time can be adjusted by frequency conversion).
Quantitative filling is equipped with a flowmeter, which can realize quantitative filling through the accurate adjustment of the flowmeter. Quantitative filling is the most accurate filling method in the market.
Self-gravity filling is the main filling method of high-speed filling in the market, which can fill large and small barrels on one machine at the same time.
4.The label makes my product information more detailed.
4.1 Barrel caps label
The caps label of barreled water generally adopts sleeving label and then shrinking by steam.
4.2 Barrel body label
For barreled water, due to the large barrel body, we use the stick label machine to stick the label onto the barrel body. The labeling machine is selected according to the label size.
4.3 The special shape labels are generally more favored by consumers
The special-shaped labels usually need to be labeling at the specified position of the barrel body, which requires the labeling machine to have the positioning function.
5. After production, we need to consider warehousing and transportation also.
Before starting the 5gallon project, we need to consider the following things:
1. Capacity, how many barrels of 5gallon water do I want to produce per hour?
2. The external part washing of the 5gallon barrel, choose line type machine or rotary type machine?
3. The internal part washing of the 5gallon barrel, washing by brush or high-pressure pump?

4-16L bottled water in the market, the bottle material is usually PET, which belongs to the disposable packaged drinking water. According to the bottle size, we can divide into disposable large barreled drinking water(9-16L) and disposable small barreled drinking water(4-8L).
6.1. 9-16L disposable large barreled drinking water
The disposable large barreled packaging drinking water, to a certain extent, solve the barreled water transportation radius and recycling barrel of secondary pollution, but disposable large barreled drinking water has such problems as high cost and serious resource waste, during a period of short time it can’t replace the barreled water . Some people evaluate that the disposable large barreled drinking water (9-16 liters) is loud thunder brings small rain.
6.2. 4-8L disposable small barreled drinking water
With the continuous change of the times, small barreled water will have better market prospects in the future. Compared with the single package of large barreled water, the design of disposable small water barrel is more diversified, the secondary packaging can be wrapped with shrink film or boxed in different combinations, and consumers can choose according to their own needs in life. If the task of buying bottled water is undertaken by women, there is no doubt that disposable small barreled water has more advantages. In terms of barrel volume, barrel body design, and secondary packaging, disposable small barreled water is more favored by most female consumers. Disposable water in small barrels (4-8l) is in its prime.
