UV Water Treatment Technology – Reducing Total Organic Carbon
In many high-tech and laboratory devices, organic matter can hinder the production of high-purity water. Shorter wavelengths of ultraviolet light (185 nm) can also effectively reduce total organic carbon. The main principle of the ultraviolet water treatment technology is to oxidize the organic matter into water and carbon dioxide by generating free hydrogen and oxygen with strong oxidizing power. Like ozone removal systems, this ultraviolet system, which degrades organic carbon, has three to four times as much ultraviolet radiation as a traditional disinfection system.
